At its recent annual general meeting, members reflected on another busy year while welcoming a mix of familiar faces and new volunteers to key leadership roles.
Marney Daligliesh returned to the presidential chair, and Tom Pyle remains as vice president.
Meanwhile Marnie Steer and Lucille Dickins, who have both served countless years as secretary and treasurer, respectively, handed over their roles to some “fresh blood”.
Victoria Kennedy stepped into the role of secretary, while her mother Carol Kennedy has taken on the treasurer's position.
Over the past 12 months, the museum committee has been busy with various history projects.
A key focus for members is fielding research requests from those interested in learning more about their family history.
The museum holds a vast collection of family histories and items connected to family and business histories.
Anyone interested in researching their own family history should submit a research request form.
Physical forms are available at the museum, or you can access an online form from the museum website.
Other achievements included the “long overdue” update to the Berrigan Heritage Walk, with several old and damaged plaques replaced and several new ones added.
The booklet also got a refresh, and copies can be found on the museum's verandah.
With 39 locations to visit, there is plenty of history to learn about the town.
Anzac Day was another key time for the members, who place metal crosses and poppies on the graves of returned service men and women.
The project has been undertaken every year for more than over two decades.
The committee also support the Berrigan RSL Sub-branch by providing the morning tea after the Anzac Day service, in collaboration with the Berrigan Country Women’s Association.
In May this year, museum members organised their fourth Cemetery Walk.
This time it focused on some of the notable women from the town's history, and it was one of the most successful walks yet.
Copies of the booklet, along with booklets from previous walks, are available to purchase from the museum.
The museum is also part of the Southern NSW Regional Heritage Group, which meet three times a year across regional NSW.
It provides a great opportunity to connect with fellow museum volunteers from across the state, and Berrigan will be hosting the February 2027 gathering.
The museum is open every Wednesday from 9am to 11am, or at other times by appointment.
Anyone who has an interest in helping to preserve, record, or display Berrigan's history is more than welcome to go along and get involved.
