Corowa Civic Bowls Club
The Ladies Two Day Fours Tournament was held on Wednesday and Thursday.
After having brilliant weather the week before, it turned very wintery; Wednesday we had a fog most of the morning, but once it lifted and the sun came out, it looked good while still very cold.
Thursday was even colder, with a stiff breeze.
Teams had entered from Whittlesea, Wodonga, Cohuna, Tocumwal, Cobram, Myrtleford, Golden Square, North Albury, Wangaratta, YMGCR, Albury Commercial, Lavington, Chiltern, Rutherglen, Corowa RSL, Benalla and Corowa Civic; it was great to have 25 teams enter this year.
Teams said what a great tournament with the green running very well, thank you Andy for all your work in that area.
The organisers, Col, Maree, Eileen and Annette did great work bringing it altogether.
The kitchen staff put on lovely meals both days under the guidance of Pam; a huge thank you to all the helpers from the club and especially those from our community who have pitched in when our club has few women for these events.
Our men do a wonderful job helping, we couldn’t operate without you.
Ian and John plus their helpers did a great job in the bar area, also thank you to our umpires for both days, especially Terry.
