Originally from Nangus, just past Gundagai, Teresa isn’t too far from home but is full of excitement about becoming part of our community.
She’s already been busy settling in and making her mark, with a refreshed bistro menu now on offer and the hotel open seven days a week serving both lunch and dinner.
The accommodation rooms have also had a lovely facelift, giving them a fresh and welcoming feel for visitors passing through.
In true country spirit, Teresa has embraced community life from the get-go. There’s a noticeboard up inside the pub to help locals stay connected, and the hotel has proudly come on board as a sponsor of the Jerilderie Football Netball Club for the 2026 season.
Friday nights are shaping up to be a great chance to catch up, with MAKTAK meat tray raffles 5.30pm - 7.30pm, along with pizzas available on Friday nights. Lunch is served from 12–2pm (excluding Tuesday and Wednesday), with dinner available every night of the week.
While this might be Teresa’s first time running a pub, she’s no stranger to hard work, having managed everything from supermarkets and baby shops to larger retail stores like Kmart and Fantastic Furniture.
She admits she’s loving the change, and perhaps it was always meant to be. Her mum says it’s her calling, having grown up around pub life when her own mother managed the Deakin Hotel in Canberra.
With a new full-time chef, Andrew, joining the team from nearby Urana, there’s plenty happening at the Jerilderie Hotel. But above all, Teresa says they’re “just trying to be a part of the community”. Be sure to pop in, say hello, and make Teresa and her team feel right at home.
