The 10, 20 and 40 year premiership reunions are set to be celebrated during Ladies Day at the Jerilderie v Waaia home game on Saturday,
The reunions will honour the achievements of the 2016 under-17s and C-grade premiership teams, the 2006 under-13s and under-16s premiership sides, along with the 1986 C-grade and C-reserve premiership winners.
The club warmly welcomes the community, supporters and players of those memorable eras to come together and celebrate what promises to be a spectacular day of connection, memories and football and netball spirit.
The reunions also highlight the rich history of the club across three separate leagues - the Murray League (1986), the Coreen League (2006) and the Picola League (2016).
Looking back through old newspaper reports from the premiership years has been a reminder of how much times have changed.
In an era before social media and instant messages, support and encouragement arrived a little differently.
One extract from the 1986 premiership write-up reads:
“Best wishes and telegrams were read out to the teams by president Joy Knight prior to the games.
“The executive and players were extremely pleased with all those who made the trip to Tocumwal on such a rainy day to give their support.
“Red and blue was everywhere, making the victory even sweeter.”
While technology may have changed, I can personally confirm as a current (and one of the 2016 premiership players) the passion, teamwork and pride for the game remains just as strong today.

A highlight for Jerilderie further afield last weekend was the performance of racehorse Deebaa, who placed third in Race 4 at the Leeton Race Club meeting.
Deebaa, a mare trained locally by Jerilderie’s Paul McVicar and ridden by John Keating, continues to fly the flag for the district on the racing circuit.
The mare is sired by stallion Tassort out of the dam Dream Cirque.
It is always wonderful to see Jerilderie making headlines and local connections achieving success across the region.
