Tough weekend coming in MVLA

By Daniel Hughes

After a week off due to a league wide bye, most local Murray Valley Cricket Association sides will be on the pitch again this weekend.

Finley Cats’ division one side will face off against Cobram at home this Saturday.

It's the first meeting for the two teams so far this season, and Finley will be counting on its dominance from last season to continue through.

Both times the teams met last year in the home and away season, Finley came out on top.

Finley's division two side will travel to Katamatite on Sunday.

Tocumwal Bloods’ premier side will head to Deniliquin to take on the Rhinos at Memorial Park.

The teams are evenly matches, with a win each during the home and away season when they met twice last season.

In both cases, it was while playing away the teams won their respective games.

The Bloods’ division one side have another bye this weekend, and will return to the pitch next weekend against their closest neighbours - Finley.

Jerilderie's division two side will face off against Nathalia at Nathalia.

Jerilderie has shown it can be strong on Nathalia territory, beating the home team when they met last season.

The Berrigan/Jerilderie Under 14s will also see some action at home this Saturday, playing against Katunga.
