The award winning film has been brought to Tocumwal by a group from our local community, alongside the Southern Riverina Wellbeing Collective to promote mental health awareness.
The event has reached its ticketing capacity three times with organisers squeezing in more seats at the venue. Ticket holders are reminded to arrive 6pm for a 6.30pm start.
This powerful film captures the struggles and triumphs of rural life, with a deep focus on mental health awareness and community resilience.
Just A Farmer film writer and executive producer Leila McDougall will attend as the event’s special guest.
Following the film, there will be supper and a Q&A with Leila McDougall and Dr Georgie Tuck.

Tocumwal Public School would like to thank Tim Shannon and Cobram Farm Equipment for repairing the school’s much loved playground flying fox and spinner.
Tim took on the tricky job of replacing the mechanism in the missing spinner and getting the flying fox working properly again, while Cobram Farm Equipment donated the required parts.
The students are thrilled to have these parts of their playground back in action, and the teachers are grateful to have the noise from the flying fox gone.
The school is fortunate to have local people and businesses willing to contribute their time, skills and support.

Save the date for the Tocumwal Rural Fire Service Open Day on Saturday, September 19.
The open day will be held from 10am to 2pm at the Tocumwal Rural Fire Brigade Station in Wise Court.
The event organisers would love the help of our community in spreading the word and sharing the Open Day information with your family and friends.
Those attending can meet the RFS volunteers, check out the fire trucks and enjoy a great family day with the community. Kids can also enjoy colouring in activities.
The open day will include some vital fire safety information in preparation for summer and bush fire season.

There has been some sad news from Hadspen, Tasmania last week with the death of former Tocumwal Hospital director of nursing Gaye Firns (nee Chapman).
Gaye was at Tocumwal Hospital from late 1970 until 1973 when she and husband, John, moved to Tasmania near Gaye’s parents.
Gaye is survived by John and their children Robert, Toni and Peter and their grandchildren. Her funeral was a private family graveside service at Hagley.

Community members are invited to clear out what you no longer wear or use, and take home something you love at the Women of the Murray Tocumwal Swaps evening.
In the lead up to Jean Hailes Women’s Health Week, this event is about more than finding a new outfit.
It is an opportunity to prioritise yourself, connect with other women, and enjoy conversations and activities that encourage us to move, breathe and build meaningful social connections.
The event will be held on Friday, September 4 from 6pm-8pm at the Tocumwal War Memorial Hall. Tickets are $5 for WOTM members and $10 non-members.
You must purchase a ticket before items are dropped off and accepted.
Donations of clean, good-quality clothing, books, toys, and homewares are now being accepted and can be dropped at Tocumwal Post Office.
Each accepted item will earn you one Swap Ticket, which becomes your currency for the evening. No money changes hands on the Swap Floor and early drop off is appreciated and helps the group’s volunteers create a beautiful shopping experience for everyone.
While the volunteers prepare the Swap on the night, ticket holders are welcome to enjoy the style lounge, featuring local fashion, styling demonstrations, mini talks, and women’s health information.
Local stylists and volunteers will also be available throughout the evening, with support for simple alterations and repairs.
Any remaining items at the conclusion of the event will be donated to local charities.
