Hosted by the Finley Show Society, the trials will be held at the Finley Showgrounds from Friday to Sunday.
Over the three days, organisers say attendees can see about 145 well-trained working dogs and their triallers show their skills.
There will be four different categories of competition - Encourage, Novice, Improver and Open.
There is a trophy for first place in each section, and a cash prize for the top two finishers in the Encourage category and top five finishers in all the other categories.
In its 10th year, the trials will have two massive courses running simultaneously, with the Novice and Encourage classes on the soccer ground and the Improver and Open are on the main arena.
Contestants have 15 minutes to guide three sheep through an obstacle course and into a pen before the clock runs out.
The trials attract many contestants and supporters every year, and has proven to be economically important.
The funds raised from contestant entry fees, meals and camping options support the Finley Show Society’s other events throughout the year, including the Finley Show on Father’s Day each year.
Finley Show Society vice president Carol Kennedy said organisers are looking forward to another well-supported event in the milestone year.
“We’re quite thrilled to have reached 10 years and thank everyone who has supported the event.
“Entrants travel from all over NSW and Victoria to take part, and over the years we’ve had a few regulars who keep coming back.
“It is open to the public and free to enter for spectators.
“Lunch, morning and afternoon tea will be available each day at the Bob Close Pavilion for a reasonable cost, with EFTPOS available.
“Trialling runs from about 8am to 5pm on each day of competition.”
