A $250,000 grant has been announced for lighting upgrades at Chittick Park oval in Seymour, under the Victorian Government’s Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.
The local project is one of 57 recipients sharing in more than $13.9 million from the fund.
State Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes announced the recipients on October 22.
“Local clubs bring communities together – these grants will help improve their facilities for everyone to enjoy,” Ms Symes said.
The fund supports communities looking to kickstart pavilion revamps, court reconstructions, sports field upgrades, updated sports lighting, new playgrounds and more.
Community Sport Minister Ros Spence said the government was encouraging more Victorians to get active.
“Labor is encouraging even more Victorians to get active and join their local clubs to enjoy the sports they love,” Ms Spence said.
The Victorian Government said it had invested more than $24 million in community infrastructure across the state.
