Children from Jerilderie, Coleambally, Cobram, Berrigan and Finley enjoyed three days of activities including craft, kayaking, outdoor activities and music.
The program is run annually by the Jerilderie Uniting Church, with support from Sydney Wesley Mission and Murrumbidgee Council.
Camp coordinator Jacqui Robertson expressed thanks to “everyone who made this school holiday program such an amazing success”.
“The young volunteers from Sydney Wesley Mission brought such joy and light to our community,” she said.
“Ladies gathered for the three days at the Uniting Church to prepare 120 lunches (for the children and camp supervisors).
“Thank you so much for giving up your time to make this possible.
“Murrumbidgee Council donated the racecourse and the Bendigo Bank sponsored a bus to bring Coleambally children each day.
“The Jerilderie Uniting Church congregation are so thankful for all the help we received to make this event possible.”
This initiative is now growing and later this year, in the September school holidays, the Coleambally’s Riverina Youth Connect team will host a three-day event in Coleambally.
