On the big screen was the family film Peter Rabbit, and pool manager and committee member Paul Burns said it was a successful night.
“It was a really good night. We had a good turnout and everyone enjoyed it,” he said.
“The movie was a bit hit with the kids in particular.”
Fellow pool committee member Nikki Wayne said the event was a community initiative, to offer something different for locals and visitors alike.
“Nikki's Teapot Cafe was delivering pizzas and donated some of the proceeds back to the pool committee,” she said.
“Finley Community Church provided some of the equipment needed, and Gary Carr and Tiarna Giddings from Betta helped with the set up of the sound and electrical equipment.
“It was a team effort from the pool committee. It is great to have them working really well to bring events like this to the team.”
The potential for further movie nights will be discussed at the pool committee's next meeting. The group meets the first Wednesday of each month from 7.30pm, at the Finley RS Club.”
The Finley pool was not the only venue locals and visitors flocked to when seeing in the new year.
Local eateries and clubs were well patronised on both New Year's Even and New Year's Day.
Berrigan Shire Mayor Matt Hannan said it was great to see the whole shire busy for the festive season.
“I looked like everybody enjoyed the Christmas break and had a nice New Year's celebration,” he said.
“I got to catch up with my own friends and family who visited, and I hope everyone else got to do the same.
“I'm looking forward to seeing the Berrigan Shire continue to thrive into 2020; it is a great place to live, raise a family and have a life here.”
