In his first knock for the season noted run machine and captain Kyle Mueller showed the way with an entertaining 80 off 65 deliveries which included six boundaries and two sixes.
Earlier openers Cade Mueller and Billy McLay gave Kyabram another good start after the visitors had won the toss and batted.
Cade Mueller made 45 off 44 balls with nine sixes in a dashing knock and McLay fell for a patient 23.
It was nothing like their 225 runs stand the previous week in the season opener, but laid the platform for another healthy score for their side.
Kyle Mueller and Lukas Hanslow retrieved Kyabram from 4-85 to 192 in a 107 runs fifth-wicket stand which steadied and boosted the Kyabram innings.
Hanslow clubbed three fours on his way to making 39, while Charlie McLay provided some batting fireworks with a quick-fire unbeaten 41 off 28 deliveries with four fours and three sixes.
Kyabram’s final total was never seriously challenged by the combine batters who succumbed for 109 against a Charlie McLay-led Kyabram attack.
The fifth bowler tried, McLay ripped through the combine tailenders, taking 6-33 off 8.1 overs.
The other Kyabram bowlers Sam Langley, Jackson McLay, young gun Anthony Evans and English recruit Elliott Griffiths all took one wicket with McLay the most economical.
In his first game for the club Griffiths finished with 1-30 off nine overs bowling left-arm off-spin.
The club is hoping he will be an adequate replacement for another English recruit Louis Sabbagh-Holt who has not been able to acquire a visa to return to the club this season.
After two opening wins to start the season Kyabram hosts Tatura, which has lost its first two games, but has been competitive in both of them.
B-grade
In its first appearance for the new season Kyabram made short work of Waaia, losing two wickets in covering the visitor’s meagre score of 70.
Opening bowler and skipper Nic Chambers and Riley Nicholson cut down the Waaia batting line-up in 26.5 overs in the clash at the Kyabram Recreation Reserve.
First change medium pace bowler Nicholson bowled superbly to bag 5-10 off six overs, Chambers took 4-12 off 7.5 overs, while Jason Parsons picked up the remaining wicket.
In reply Kyabram lost only openers Parsons (31) and Tim Nelson (19) chasing down Waaia’s score in 10.1 overs.
E-grade
In E-grade Kyabram and Mooroopna played a tie.
Batting first Mooroopna made 187 off 32.2 overs, a target Kyabram always had firmly in its sights.
While only three wickets down when it matched the Mooroopna score it ran out of overs to get over the line, equalling Mooroopna’s score, but not bettering it.
In the visitor’s innings Lacy Parsons with 3-19 was the most successful of the Kyabram bowlers and was well supported by Toby McKiernan and Xavier Graetz, each with two wickets.
Opener Lachlan Dennis and Asher Porch led Kyabram’s run chase with half-centuries. Both hit three boundaries and one six.
They received most support from Dylan Lopez whose dashing, unbeaten 47 off 24 deliveries contained two fours and four sixes and Toby McKiernan with 22.
Under-16
Kyabram was well beaten by Old Students Nagambie in their Friday night clash at Kyabram.
Set a daunting target of 3-201, Kyabram was restricted to 9-110 off its 20 overs with Anthony Evans with an unbeaten 27 opening the innings the best of the Kyabram batters.
He got most support from Riley Nicholson (17) and Jack Halstead (14).
Nicholson was also Kyabram’s most successful bowler with 2-20.
