Brighton was selected in the state side for the event being held at Mount Lawley Bowling Club in Western Australia.
Victoria’s squad was announced following its Junior Tri-Series against NSW and Queensland a fortnight ago.
The state retained the overall shield, mainly due to its commanding performance in the under-18 boys, with the local playing a key role in the team.
The Big V finished with 45 rink points, well ahead of NSW in second on 24 and bottom-placed Queensland with 21, with Brighton contributing a handful of wins.
The tri-series consists of six rounds, with rounds one and five being one rink of fours, while rounds two and four saw teams play each other in two pairs rinks.
The other two rounds, three and six, also involved two rinks, with one being a singles and the other a triples.
Brighton showcased his versatility at the event, recording wins in three of the four formats.
He picked up his first victory against NSW in the round two pairs, winning 20-13 with Charlie Boswood.
That was followed by a triples win against the same state in round three, where Brighton was the team’s lead, before another pairs victory in round four, this time 18-13 alongside Micah Oswin.
The Moama bowler then completed his campaign by registering a dominant 21-5 singles win over Queensland’s Thomas Brehmer.
Brighton finished up with a 4-2 record from his six matches, placing him seventh on the final individual player ladder.
