As an under-13 parent, scribing this column, I’m incredibly proud to see just how far this group has come.
Their skill development, determination and teamwork across the season have been fantastic to watch, and they’ve certainly earned their place in the preliminary final.
Our young Dee snow head to Blighty this Sunday to take on Tocumwal at 10.20am.
As our last Jerilderie side standing in this year’s finals series, they would love to see as many supporters as possible make the trip over and cheer them on!
And if you need another reason to make a day of it, Sunday is Father’s Day.
Cheer on the under-13s, then take Dad out for lunch on the way home - two birds, one stone seems a very fitting analogy here.

This week is your last chance to apply for the Monash Bursary, with a $3000 bursary available to support an eligible student from the Murrumbidgee Council area.

A group of local ladies have established a Jerilderie women's walking group, with plans in place to meet at the lake on Sundays at 10am.

The Jerilderie Aquatic Club’s next general meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 3 at the Jerilderie Sports Club, 7.30pm.

Spring has officially sprung, and with it comes a wonderful line-up of community performances to look forward to at the Jerilderie Civic Hall over the coming months.
Jerilderie Public School students are busy rehearsing their upcoming production, Back to Jerilderie, which will take to the stage on Wednesday, September 16.
There will be a matinée performance at 12pm, followed by an evening performance at 6pm.
Not long after, St Joseph’s Primary School will bring plenty of entertainment to the Civic Hall with its annual Extravaganza on Thursday, September 24 at 6pm.
And, of course, one to mark on everyone’s calendar is the much-loved Jerilderie Flower Show on Friday, October 23.
For those with gardens beginning to burst into colour, now is the perfect time to give those potential prize-winning blooms a little extra tender loving care ahead of the show!
More information on Flower Show categories, entry details and times will be released closer to the day.

EnergyCo is leading the delivery of the South West Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), which extends from near Jerilderie in the east to Buronga in the west.
As part of this delivery, EnergyCo is developing a Community and Employment Benefit Program (CEBP) to provide funding for initiatives that deliver lasting benefits to local communities and support employment outcomes across the region.
An initial $60 million will be invested, with additional funding expected over time.
They are seeking community feedback on how the CEBP will be structured and have a survey for residents within the REZ - www.energyco.nsw.gov.au/our-projects/south-west-rez/community-employment-benefit-program.
Alternatively if you need assistance finding the survey online, or access to the internet, the library can assist, pop in and see them.
The survey closes mid-September.

The Jerilderie Portsea Camp Committee is searching for enthusiastic volunteers to act as camp leaders for the upcoming January 2027 camp.
As a senior leader, you will help supervise the children during their journey to and from camp and play an important role in ensuring they have a safe, fun and unforgettable week.
The role includes free accommodation, meals and travel and is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable leadership experience, make new connections and make a real difference in the lives of local young people.
