Ahead of its final on Saturday against Cobram, Congupna’s premiership hopes will be galvanised by a bid to send off its senior football coach with another Murray League flag as The Road confirmed Bingham will step aside from his role at the conclusion of the 2026 season.
Bingham’s tenure has been lavished with success after stepping into assistant coaching and senior coaching positions.
Bingham first joined The Road in 2021, before becoming an assistant coach in 2022.
He was then elevated to senior football coach in 2024.
In his time with the magnet board, Congupna has become a perennial contender for Murray League flags - finishing runners-up in 2023, raising the cup in 2024, before another runners-up effort in 2025.
Congupna is the flag favourite in 2026 after a 16-1-1 home and away campaign saw The Road finish three and a half games clear with the minor premiership.
Congupna president Deb McColl lauded Bingham’s contribution to the club - for both and on and off-field factors.
Congupna was crowned king of the Murray Football League for 2024 under Bingham.

“Ben's work ethic is probably something most people outside the playing group don't get to see," McColl said.
"He puts an enormous amount of time into reviewing games, planning and continually looking at how he can make both individual players and the team improve.
"Just as importantly, he communicates exceptionally well with his players.
“He has built genuine relationships with them, and they have the utmost respect for him.
"Ben has helped create a group of players who genuinely enjoy playing football together, and that is something we're incredibly proud of."
McColl stated the club is now inviting expressions of interest for the senior football coaching gig.
"We aren't looking for someone to simply fill a position," she said.
"We're looking for someone who wants to build on what has been established and become part of the Congupna Football Netball Club.
"We have a strong playing group, a great culture and people who genuinely care about the success of the club.
“We want our next coach to bring their own ideas and strengths while continuing to develop our players and football program.
"For the right person, we believe this is a very exciting coaching opportunity."
The club said it welcomes interest from established senior coaches as well as ambitious emerging coaches looking for an opportunity to take the next step.
Congupna’s senior football side face Cobram at Rumbalara Recreation Reserve on Saturday at 2:10pm.
