The A-grade netballers played well, but were unable to match their Tongala opponents on Saturday.
The scoreline does not reflect how well the team played. From the first whistle to the last, each player contested with great intensity.
They created turnovers in defence and were able to use some great transitional plays to get the ball down to the goals who were on point from the first shot, with both goalers shooting at high percentages for the entire game.
Awards: BOC Paige Gray, Players’ player Hayley Denny, Milena Sneddon.
B-grade: Finley 28 def by Tongala 82
This was always going to be a big challenge coming up against a polished and undefeated side.
A slow start cost the Cats, who never really got into their game. There were some good passages of play with the defence working overtime against a strong attack.
When they were able to release the ball with confidence, it was transferred down the court into the goalers.
Awards: BOC Charlotte Rafferty, Players’ Player Shayne Newton, Tilly Burton.
C-grade: Finley 25 def by Tongala 63
In the final run for the season, the team gave it their all.
Some great ball movement and defensive pressure meant they were able to keep up with a strong Tonny side until the half-time whistle.
Unfortunately, after the break, the scoreboard started to blow out, but the players never gave up.
Awards: BOC Abby Tanner, coach’s award Remi Pyle.

Unfortunately, with some positional changes due to injury, the players were unable to execute their game plan, but did not give up and fought until the end against a well drilled opposition.

A fantastic final game, with the players showing how far they have come this season.

Under 13s: Finley 10 def by Tongala 40
The team had a tough last game against Tongala.
Given the challenges throughout the game, they all took them on with their heads held high. The girls all took on the advice that was given to them and everyone got behind one another, showing encouragement and sportsmanship.
Awards: Molly Crowley, Matilda Marshall.
Under 11s: Not scored
Great last game. With a few players away, it gave some of the younger players an opportunity to try various positions, and they did a wonderful job.
This team has come a long way this season, and with most of the team moving into under-13s next year, the club cannot wait to see what they can achieve.
On behalf of all the players and parents, a huge thank you to the coaches for the time, effort, and dedication this season.
Awards: BOC Immy Harris, Zara Swaidesir.
