Saints A grade narrowly miss out on Finals appearance

Berrigan's A grade season came to a dramatic end over the weekend at home against Picola United, suffering a 45 goal loss in the final round of the Picola & District League on Saturday.

The loss over the weekend came at an unfortunate time, sealing their fate just one spot outside of a finals appearance for their 2019 campaign. 

Final score, Picola Utd 68 to Berrigan 23

A strong final performance from the B grade Berrigan side secured their top four finish for their 2019 season.

The side now turns their attention to finals and will look to keep their momentum going from last week's huge win.

Final score, Berrigan 44 to Picola Utd 20.

The Saints C grade had one thing on their mind over the weekend, 21 goals to that magic number, 1000 goals scored for the season.

It only took them until the second quarter to reach the impressive milestone.

The Saints will look to continue their season high into their finals season, hoping to take home a league win.

Final score, Berrigan 53 to Picola Utd 29

Awards: Rennick Family - Joan Russell, IGA – Rachael Arnold.

The Saints C reserves had a dominant performance his week, keeping Picola scoreless in the first and third quarters.

Everyone played to the best of their abilities and pulled together as a team, just in time to march into the finals.

Final score: Berrigan 31 to Picola Utd 2.

Awards: Rennick Family - Samantha Henderson, Blue Door - Chantelle Henderson.

Berrigan Under 15s ran away with a big win to earn a place in the finals and look forward to taking on Waaia next weekend.

Final score, Berrigan 42 to Picola Utd 10.

Saints U13s had a great team performance with all members giving 110 per cent throughout the whole game.

A fantastic rise for Berrigan from a low position on the ladder in the early part of the season to hard fought wins has earned them a place in the finals.

Final score, Berrigan 29 to Picola 10.

Awards: George Fenton Award – Jess O’Dwyer, Berrigan Takeaway & Pizza – Amelia Packer, Berrigan Pharmacy – Lillianna Luscombe.

It was a fantastic finish to the U11s season on an ice cold windy day.

Awards this week went to the whole team.
