Our scripture tells us that believers who tell the truth to others can expect there will be those who hate them for it.
Charlie Kirk spent his life telling people the truth. He was willing to listen to people and their views, but he always confronted them with the truth.
People who didn’t agree with him commonly not only disagreed, but violently opposed him. In the end, one man willingly shot and killed him.
We can expect that people who reject the truth commonly react with anger and violence.
Why is this? It’s because they have joined themselves with the devil who came to kill, steal and destroy.
These people mirror the same demonic behaviour. Instead of listening to another person’s truth, they show hatred and animosity towards them.
Charlie paid the ultimate cost of discipleship. What we can learn from Charlie’s life is that there is a cost to true discipleship.
However, the reward we receive from Jesus far surpasses all that the enemy throws at us.
Let’s be fearless and continue to speak truth regardless of the consequences.
Let’s be like Charlie, and be remembered for standing up for truth.
