“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Phillipians 3:13-14 NIV).
It’s important for us to discover the purpose and calling that God has predestined for our lives.
How do we discover God’s plans and purposes for our lives?
God’s words tell us to, firstly, let go of our past. We have to forget what is behind us and earnestly seek what God has for us in the future.
Looking to the past holds us back from our future destiny.
We must also ask God to reveal our call to us. If we don’t knock on the door of our destiny, it will never be opened to us.
We also have to identify our passions and gifts as these will shape our destiny.
It’s also important that we fully surrender ourselves to God and obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
We should also recall our God encounters as within them are the fingerprints of His calling.
When we complete our calling in this life and finally depart this world we will hear the words; “well done good and faithful servant”.
