Picola & District League ladder leader Tocumwal proved too good for Blighty on Saturday, with the Redeyes suffering a 21 goal loss.

Blighty went into the clash knowing it would be a tough game, particularly as they were missing players and playing with some new combinations all the way down the court.
The Redeyes’ effort was superb and not reflected on the scoreboard.
The second quarter cost Blighty, but apart from that they were fairly even in the other three quarters.

Another slow start and a few wasted opportunities let the B grade Redeyes down again in a seven goal loss.
A change at half time saw a bit of a come back from Blighty, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to get the win.
Charlea Clarke starred her one and only game for the year with her outstanding shooting on display.
Sophie Dudley and Emmaline Weir stepped up from the Under 17s with both playing unreal netball.

Great defence by the defenders kept the C grade Redeyes in the game in what was an outstanding eight goal win.
It was very physical in the ring but Blighty’s shooters held their own to win the game comfortably.

Blighty’s C reserve held off a late charge to record a six goal win.
The Redeyes started on a high and fought until the end of the third quarter where Tocumwal increased the pressure.
The Macdonald sisters, Tiah and Zara, didn’t let that shake them as the Bloods came back in the last quarter.
Defence held tight throughout the whole game, with midcourt helping the flow of play.

A strongly fought four quarters of netball wasn’t enough for the Under 17s Redeyes, beaten by five goals.
Gabby Clarke and Lillie Harford shot beautifully before the latter ran out the last quarter in centre.
Emmaline Weir and Sophie Dudley were also excellent in defence.

Blighty’s U15s scored their best win of the season, knocking off fourth placed Tocumwal by four goals to sit second on the ladder.
It was close all game with scores up and down.
The whole team pushed in the last quarter and kept their heads in the game to come away with the victory.

It was a tough game for the Redeyes U13s, falling to second placed Tocumwal by four goals.
Blighty’s effort stakes were high and they never gave up.
Despite the loss it was a great learning experience for the Redeyes, who sit third on the ladder.

The U11s Redeyes had a great game against Tocumwal.
It was a tough game but everyone showed they have improved, with attacking skills developing and everyone learning to get to the front of their player for the ball.
