With perfect conditions, Tungamah hit the ground running, having most of the play for the first part of the opening quarter.
Toc managed to settle into the game with a couple of snap goals from new recruit Flynn Tonks.
The second quarter was all Tungamah.
Tocumwal only managed four inside 50s for the quarter and kicked two goals and one behind.
In the third quarter, Toc came out with a better attitude all over the ground.
The centre clearance work was up, and around the group, players worked harder and controlled the play more to suit the team’s style of play.
They had 11 inside 50s for four goals and four behinds, with Andrew Dickins, Flynn Tonks and Xavier Walker hitting the scoreboard.
The final quarter was a good contest for both sides, but unfortunately, Toc was inaccurate, kicking two goals and seven behinds for the quarter.
With a young, new-look side, the performance in the second half was very positive.
However, an excellent four-quarter effort is needed to push sides like Tungamah, who are always in finals contention.
