The Liberals candidate was in town to attend the candidates forum on Wednesday night, and took the opportunity to spend several hours outside the Cressy St pre-polling booth greeting people and handing out how-to-vote cards as people went in to vote.
While she was there, Ms Ley sent Liberal volunteers to have a break.
Ms Ley said it was important to have a representation at the pre-polling booths with many people choosing to vote early.
“One in eight people in my electorate voted early,” she said.
Ms Ley said the Australian Electoral Commission says more people than ever are voting early, with up to 50 per cent of people casting their votes before election day on Saturday.
Deniliquin is not the first pre-polling booth Ms Ley has manned during her election campaign. She has also spent time at the Griffith and Albury pre-polling booths.
