Edward Public School students, staff and community members began term three of the school year with delayed NAIDOC Week celebrations.

Jason Kerr snr was invited to perform a Welcome to Country on Tuesday, and spoke about his connection to Deniliquin.
Karen Mobourne addressed the assembly about the meaning and importance of NAIDOC Week, which was officially held in the school holidays from July 3-10.
Mr Kerr was joined by Jason Kerr jnr to perform a traditional dance, the younger performing the kangaroo dance while Mr Kerr played the digeridoo.
Mr Kerr then led the smoking ceremony to officially begin the the special week of activities, which was followed by morning tea in Edward School’s new Wellbeing Hub.
Students and staff have participated in cultural activities all week, culminating in a display in the Bradley Hall and an Indigenous Games Tabloid between 11.30am and 1pm today.
All are welcome to join students and staff from 11am today to witness the celebrations.
