The production will feature a talented cast of 15 adult performers with disability alongside 15 support staff working behind the scenes.
Support staff will assist with costumes and quick changes, co-ordinate backstage movement, manage props and help cast members successfully navigate all aspects of a live performance.
Creating Drama director Helen Janke said watching the cast develop throughout the rehearsal process was one of the most rewarding parts of each production.
“Our performers put so much into every production,” she said.
“They learn their lines, songs, choreography and stage directions, but most importantly they build confidence, friendships and a real sense of achievement.
“With 15 performers on stage and 15 support staff behind the scenes, this production is a huge team effort. Everyone has an important part to play, and we are incredibly excited to bring The Little Mermaid JR to the stage.”
Creating Drama is a local performing arts program providing opportunities for adults with disability to participate in live theatre.
Creating Drama said the upcoming production was an opportunity for the community to support inclusive local theatre and enjoy a fun, colourful production performed by a cast who have worked hard to bring their characters to life.
