Finley's Division Two have fallen short of making a Murray Valley Cricket Association semi final appearance following a shock loss to bottom of the table side Katamatite at home on Saturday.
Cats captain Ryan Donkin lost the toss and was sent out to field first.
The home side threw everything at the away side, fronting up with a 10 bowler attack.
A sharp line and good fielding kept Katamatite to just 98 off 34 overs, Ryan Donkin (2/19 off five) and father Lindsay (2/8 off five) did a lot of the damage, accompanied by Jordan Sykes (2/22 off five).
Needing 99 to make the semi finals, the Cats opened the batting with Cameron Lawler (0) who didn't last too long at the crease followed by Dale Reese (3) who was out soon after.
Resistance was offered from captain Donkin who put on a game high 54 not out.
Unfortunately a middle order collapse and a small innings from Lindsay Donkin (15) wasn't enough to reach the target score.
The Cats finished all out for 94 in the 25th over, bringing their season to an end.
