Police received reports of a man pushing a car down the middle of the Riverina Highway about 12.30am Sunday.
When police found the car it was 15km from town, and a man was sitting in the driver’s seat.
When speaking to the driver, police claim to have seen a clear re-sealable bag of ‘green vegetable matter’ in a washing basket in the car.
In a subsequent search, police also allege to have located utensils used in the administration of cannabis.
The man was charged with possession, and issued a field court attendance notice for the next sitting at Deniliquin.
Immediate suspension
A 30 year-old woman had her licence suspended on the spot on Saturday night after allegedly testing positive to drink driving.
Police allege the woman returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.098 after initially testing positive in a roadside test.
Her Queensland registered car was stopped driving in Poictiers St, Deniliquin about 8.55pm.
The woman was charged with mid-range prescribed content of alcohol, had her licence suspended and was issued a field court attendance notice for the next sitting at Deniliquin.
