Benalla to celebrate South Asian New Year on the weekend

It will be held at the Benalla Town Hall from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday, April 13.

BMA president Puna Gunaratne said people are invited to attend the community event.

“We will have cultural games, free new year sweets, dancing, and music to be enjoyed,” Cr Gunaratne said.

“Local Benalla children will be performing on stage, sharing their musical talent.

“This year, we are bringing Tiya’s Dance Troupe to Benalla for Bollywood dancing.

“Come along and enjoy the high energy of Bollywood dancing and try a few steps for yourself.”

Cr Gunaratne thanked the volunteers who have given their time generously so that the community can enjoy this important celebration in Benalla for the second year.
