Numurkah based businessman John Beitzel has accepted the Moira Shire Council vacancy after the resignation of Marie Martin, also from Numurkah late last year.

Mr Beitzel successfully won the countback procedure from the 2020 election which was conducted by the Victorian Electoral Commission last Wednesday, January 19. He will join council for a second term after performing is Oath of Office this week.
Yarrawonga resident Judy Heather was officially elected to Moira Shire Council last month after a countback procedure on December 14, 2021 to fill another extraordinary vacancy left by Nathalia based Kevin Bourke.
Ms Heather became the fifth eastern shire-based councillor alongside Peter Mansfield, Peter Elliott, Julie Brooks and Peter Lawless giving the Yarrawonga region a majority representation on the 9 seated council.
