One of the town's businesses Mungo's Repairs, was called upon to carry out the build and repairs, with $20,000 allocated to the town's waste management.
With the job proving to be a bigger than expected, Mungo's owner Mark Anthony called on his children, Ben and Matilda, for assistance during the school holidays.
Funding for the project was assisted by $4500 of grant funding from the RAMJO Waste Group.
The Murrumbidgee Council also had additional drought initiative money become available to help fund the project.
The project was identified and applied for by the Jerilderie Tidy Towns Committee.
Mayor Ruth McRae said the injection of funding helps update its towns and provide valuable projects to local businesses.
“In this time of many challenges council acknowledges the funding that has enabled us to support our local businesses,” she said.
“Competitive opportunity through RAMJO and hard fought drought status that has seen $2 million enter our council footprint is invaluable.
“Local businesses creating valuable infrastructure, displaying community engagement and instilling in our next generation a sense of purpose and civic pride in my eyes has such positive outcomes.”
