Kerry Horn is from Pennant Hills, Sydney and brings her international experience to Berrigan.
She will be teaching all ages at the school, predominantly as a support teacher and interventionist.
Ms Horn will also be a relief teacher, assisting with literacy and numeracy skills.
Her placement with Berrigan Public is through the Rural and Remote Experience Program.
“I'm most looking forward to helping teachers with their teaching skills, and improving the knowledge of students academically and general knowledge,” she said.
Ms Horn has a long resume having completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at Sydney University, a diploma of Education from the Sydney Teachers’ College and a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) degree from University of Technology Sydney.
Will all those qualifications under her belt, Ms Horn then set out teaching around the globe.
“Over many years I have taught at schools around Sydney both large and small,” Ms Horn said.
“I've taught in areas from super numeracy at Berrigan to Murray Farm, Carlingford in Sydney, where I was specialist teacher of English as an additional language or dialect - teaching non English speakers of other countries.
“I've also taught Year 4 in San Francisco USA for 12 months.”
