The projects have reached stage two of the decision making process, with Berrigan Shire Council asked to provide more information to AusIndustry as guidance.
The greatest amount of funding submitted for a share of council's $1 million allocation is earmarked for the construction of a museum at Tocumwal Aerodrome ($400,000).
Another $200,000 has been allocated for irrigation improvements at the Finley Golf Club, while irrigation improvements at the Berrigan Community Golf and Bowls Club have been allocated $60,000.
Other projects submitted include: Refurbishment of Finley CBD building exteriors ($100,000), Redevelopment of Lions Park at Barooga, ($94,000); Enhancing the Berrigan CBD ($50,000); Uninterruptable power supply at Amaroo Hostel ($66,000) and Development of an Adverse Events Plan ($30,000).
The funding is intended to stimulate the economy during he extended drought period and, if approved, these eight projects will be in addition to four projects approved in round one of the funding package.
They must be completed by the end of this calendar year.
Council said given the short timeframe, plans on each project are progressing while it awaits approval.
“AusIndustry have asked the Council for some clarification around some of the projects – which has been provided,” director corporate services Matt Hansen said.
“The council is waiting on formal acceptance at which time it will enter into a funding agreement. Once that is signed, work can start.
“We are working on planning and design for these projects so we can hit the ground running once an agreement is signed.”
Council was also allocated $1 million in round one of the funding program, with approved projects ongoing.
They include an extension of Scoullar St in Finley and associated pedestrian access, redevelopment of the Finley War Memorial Swimming Pool and its car park, and the redevelopment of both Apex Park and Hayes Park in Berrigan.
