The usual buyers were present and the market lifted by 20c to 30c/kg across most grades of stock.
Supplementary fed cattle were in short supply with very few B muscled cattle on offer.
The cattle generally had condition but no top lines were on offer this week.
Feedlotters dominated the yearling categories and the grown steer grades outbidding the processors on a regular basis.
There were some good quality lots of heavy, well conditioned beef cows that met strong competition. Bullocks over 600kg were scarce.
The medium and heavy yearling steers reached the same highs as the previous sale however the bulk of the plainer cattle met the largest of the price rises.
The B and C muscled steers to the trade ranged from 296c to 312c/kg.
Feeder steers made from 272c to 310c/kg.
The yearling heifer portion met gains of 20 to 27c/kg as feedlotters were keen to source lines of females also.
The medium and heavy yearling C muscled heifers made from 272c to 305c/kg to average 287c/kg while the D muscled types made from 258c to 289c/kg to average 275c/kg.
The grown steers 500 to 600kg made from 271c to 305c/kg, with the feeder steer portion ranging from 284c to 3.12c/kg.
The 600kg plus steers made to 2.86c/kg. Friesian bullocks reached $2.67c/kg.
The beef cows made from 2.42c to 2.60c/kg to average 2.50c/kg and the plain Friesian cows made to 222c/kg.
