The incident happened about 2.20pm while Ms Burke was on her way to her mother’s house.
The branch, estimated to be about 20cm wide at its thickest point, fell on to Ms Burke’s car roof, damaging the roof rack railings and the car roof before falling on to the road.
“I was in shock,” Ms Burke said.
Ms Burke continued driving to her mother’s house before checking the car for damage.
Her mother, Judi Burke, said the branch could have easily hit her daughter’s car windscreen and possibly killed her.
Ms Burke said she hoped the incident raised awareness of the dangers of falling tree branches.
“I hope this gives people the incentive to look at their trees and trim them if necessary,” she said.
