The Albury trainer and jockey backed up their Berrigan Cup win in November by taking out the Finley Autumn Cup with Gagosian on Saturday.
Gagosian wasn’t challenged in the $10,000 main race, finishing just over three lengths clear of Royal Roulette.
Paul McVicar’s Berrigan trained and 2018 Finley Autumn Cup winner Maco Napret ran well to finish third. Stable mate Choreograph rounded out the first four.
Dale’s second horse in the race Lawton Joseph finished at the back of the field.
The Dale/Duffy combo also won the Race 3 Maiden Plate with four year-old gelding Eric The Axe winning by a length to Jerilderie trained Zofferella.
Sweeney’s second horse in the race Yalca Boom finished sixth with daughter Brooke in the saddle.
Dale said it was a great feeling to win both Berrigan and Finley Cups.
‘‘We won the Berrigan Cup with Little Red Devil so to win today is special.
‘‘It’s one of those days with mixed emotions because one horse did really well and the other went below par, so that’s disappointing.
‘‘Gagosian is the second win of the day, and on Berrigan Cup day I also had two winners,’’ Dale said.
Duffy said he knew early in the race his $2.90 favourite would win.
‘‘The horse travelled like the winner for the entire race. Coming to the 600 metre mark I was extremely confident so I just moved him to the outside and just blew them away.
‘‘It’s always good to come to Berrigan because I tend to get better rides, making it a bit easier to ride winners. I’m just happy to get those winners when I can,’’ Duffy said.
French Politician led until near the post in the final race before being grabbed by Another Jay Brown, ridden by Berrigan’s Bradley Vale.
It was a close finish with Xian’s Pride and Why Me Lord dead-heating for third, just 0.18 lengths behind the winner.
Four year-old mare Poet’s Muse won the first race by 1 lengths to equal favourite Friskocity and Duffy riding third placed Hello There.
Race two favourite Zarvalante — also ridden by Duffy — lost in a photo finish to $7 chance Roaming To Win ridden by Jerilderie Gold Cup winning jockey Josh Richards.
Vale finished third on End Of Day, trained by Deniliquin’s Lyn Hutchins.
The Berrigan & District Race Club thanks sponsors of all five races.
