The works have been coordinated by Finley Lions Club, which is tasked with maintenance of the facility.
Lasering works have been completed by Peter Horneman as an in kind donation.
And Berriquin Funerals director Laurie Walsh has donated a lawn edger to the club to assist with future maintenance of the area.
Lion Peter Braybon said while there’s still plenty of work to be done, the recent project adds to upgrades that have been ongoing at the cemetery for some time.
‘‘It is coming along nicely,’’ he said.
‘‘Berrigan Shire Council has provided us with funds each year to help towards maintenance.
‘‘We are still working towards the future of the site and where we want it to be, as a user friendly facility for everyone.
‘‘We have a lot of fundraising initiatives throughout the year and I think it’s essential that the community know that we raise the funds from the town, for the town, and they deserve to know that it’s going straight back to facilities that benefit them.
‘‘We’re very fortunate to have such a generous community, whose members are always willing to pitch in.’’
In early 2019 Finley Lions Club installed new fencing at the entrance to the cemetery.
Council has also contributed to improving facilities, installing a uni-sex bathroom in 2019.
