Security authorities had identified numerous calls on social media for demonstrations and gatherings under the pretext of the Halloween celebrations, Nunez said on Thursday: "The risk of urban riots is therefore very high from early evening until late at night."
Analysis of the calls left no doubt about their authors' intention to carry out new riots, he added.
There was also a risk of wild, unregistered demonstration marches, he said.
The yellow vest movement has already announced a "third act" of its protests for Saturday.
Its members called for rallies and sit-ins outside the National Assembly as well as outside all town halls in France.
At the same time, unions called for demonstrations too.
French President Emmanuel Macron has already described the demonstrations announced for Saturday as "high risk" and demanded that the marches take place outside city centres.
France prevented massive violence last Saturday, such as that which occurred on the sidelines of rallies the week before, by deploying 70,000 officers, including special and elite forces, armoured vehicles and water cannons.
The interior minister also plans to mobilise a similarly large police presence for the coming weekend.
Across the country, 410,000 people took to the streets last Saturday, according to the interior ministry, about 110,000 of them in Paris.
Other groups have joined the young people who have for weeks been demonstrating for better equipment in schools.
These groups are focusing in particular on the high cost of living.
