YMGCR Ladies 9 Holers

Wednesday, August 12

A field of 34 players contested Round 2 of the Bev Williams Trophy, played as a stroke event.

A Grade: Louie Tempany won with 32, with Rhonice Ferguson runner-up on 33 after a countback.

B Grade: Kaz Powell took the honours with 33, ahead of runner-up Beth Littler on 34.

C Grade: Kelly James won with 34, with Mary Mansfield runner-up on 35 after a countback.

YMGCR Men’s 9 Holers

Another week of four rounds across our two courses was enjoyed in wonderful, dry winter weather.

The week’s competition was the two-day Golf Pro Trophy, with the overall results to be announced later in the year. The daily winners again produced some very solid Stableford rounds.

Tuesday, August 11 – Stableford

A field of 52 competed across the two courses.

Blue Course

Graeme Lavis (12) prevailed with 22 points, ahead of Ron Sharples (13) on 20 points. Sharples continued his good form, having also finished runner-up the previous Tuesday.

Red Course

Len Elliss (9) took the honours with 20 points, with Corny Boers (3) close behind on 19. Boers also had a great day with the NTPs, taking both honours.

Thursday, August 13 – Stableford

Another terrific winter’s day saw 62 players take to the courses.

Blue Course

Len Elliss (9) continued his excellent week, recording another win with 21 points. Ken Forsyth (16) also finished on 21 points to take runner-up honours.

Red Course

Peter Ferguson (15) produced a solid 22 points to take the win, with Trevor Pelegrino (13) runner-up on 20 points.
