Starting in Goulburn Valley League, Echuca’s football side made it six wins on the bounce with a 15.7 (97) to 8.12 (60) victory over Shepparton United, while the Murray Bombers’ netball outfit returned to the winners’ list by beating the Demons 53-43.
In Murray league action, Moama recorded two different results against Cobram, the Magpies’ senior footballers being thrashed in a 5.8 (38) to 29.10 (184) defeat, while the netballers beat the Tigers 43-26.
Meanwhile, at Tongala Recreation Reserve, Tongala also had a mixed bag of results, with its football side impressing in a 15.17 (107) to 3.5 (23) win over Deniliquin, though the Blues’ A-grade netball outfit went down 53-51 in a close defeat.
Echuca United had a much more challenging Saturday, the Eagles losing both football and netball clashes against Numurkah, 9.7 (61) to 8.8 (56) and 62-45, respectively.
To the Heathcote District Football Netball League, where Lockington Bamawm United and Leitchville-Gunbower faced off, with the Cats enjoying a perfect day by winning senior football 11.14 (80) to 5.10 (40) and A-grade netball 56-52.
Finally, Picola United and Mathoura featured in Picola District Football Netball League action, with neither recording a win across both football and netball clashes.
The Blues lost to Jerilderie 8.7 (55) to 10.8 (68) in senior football and 44-40 in A-grade netball, while the Timbercutters were downed 3.5 (23) to 20.10 (130) in their football clash with Dookie United and 63-21 in the netball.
