The girls had a hard-fought game on Saturday against Waaia, with some great passages of play and plenty of determination shown across the court.
With past players from premiership winning sides of 2016, 2006, and 1986, watching on - and a full Ladies Day crowd - the girls gave it their all, but unfortunately didn’t come home with the win.
Ella Arnold, Brittney Talbot, Tianni Given and Miley Conn were strong in defence against some tall and accurate shooters.
The mid-court, as always, gave it their all, with Bon Flanagan and Mia Neessen playing some great passages through the centre.
Isabella Westwood and Ruby Neessen worked well in the ring, while Eden Hercus battled hard against some rough defenders.
With the bye coming up, the girls will have some time to rest, reset and come out strong in the next round.
Awards: Ella Arnold, Ruby Neessen, Brittany Talbot.

B-grade’s match against Waaia on Ladies Day started promisingly, with our girls working hard through the passages of play and feeding beautifully into Britt Talbot and Tanya Rorato in goals.
Mia Neessen and Vienna Bush have really found their groove through the midcourt and worked their bums off all day, earning themselves well-deserved awards this week for their efforts and consistency.
At halftime, however, the scoreboard started to drift away from us like Wilson floating off into the distance in Cast Away.
We shuffled players through the defensive end in an attempt to shut down Waaia’s shooters, but unfortunately, it just wasn’t our day on the court.
Thankfully, Ladies Day was ready and waiting after the final whistle.

Our mid-court applied fantastic defensive pressure all game, resulting in plenty of touches and intercepts. They also did an impressive job clearing out and reoffering when things got stuck through the middle.
The defensive end had a tough day in the office against the opposition’s tall and accurate shooters, but they fought hard all game and adjusted their play when needed.
