This week saw the Blighty team relying on young girls to step up.
This included youngster Ash Charlton who settled beautifully in the goal ring, showing some real promise, shooting ability and balance in the goal ring.
Megan Lowry, as always, ran all, day working both ends of the court, creating turnovers and pushing the pace in a determined fashion. She was awarded best on for the day.
Erica Nicholls was athletic in attack, quick to feed the ball in the ring and showing perseverance for a young player.
With Jerilderie coach Ellie Marshall away, Ava Belling stepped up to GA on Saturday.
Ava and Tan Rorato made sure that every shot they put up was going in and if it wasn’t they had that rebound.
Ava even made sure if that wasn’t the case she would get the intercept before it made its way back, and if she couldn’t her sister Georgia in WD had her back getting a fair few intercepts of her own.
Keshie Marshall was everywhere in centre. Her light feet and ring work was outstanding as always and with partner in crime Meagan Mauger back from holidays they got that ball into the shooters every time.
Jerilderie’s defence in Ella Arnold and Monique Harrington was spot on, never making it easy for the opposition and making them fight hard for a goal.
Paige Glover came off the bench for a quarter to lend a hand and made it look easy to intercept that ball.

Blighty were gritty in their side’s loss to Jerilderie, with most players playing more than one game during the day.
Emma Brain again stepped up, showing she is more than capable of playing at this level and able to match the game pace and movement. She also shot well.
Chelsea Weir again dominated in any position she took to, with Erica Nicholls strong through the mid-court.
The defence worked hard to put pressure on Jerilderie, resulting in numerous turnovers.
Meanwhile the Jerilderie girls really came out firing to get the first three goals.
As usual, Belle Westwood and Ruby Neessen were on in the goal ring, not missing many shots at all.
The Demons in the midcourt ran hard all game and caused Blighty a lot of turnovers, and they really took advantage of it.
Siarne Deeves and Heidi Bryce moved that ball into the ring beautifully and Toni Shaw had her WA covered at all times.
Paige Glover came on into GD and got an intercept straight away.
Shikaya Hall stood tall in GK getting every single rebound she could.

Jerilderie’s centre Tia Williams tried her hand in GD and showed an amazing read of play with a lot of intercepts.
Carina Rorato was on fire in the GK position for the Dees, her three feet and hold was exceptional.
Fi Edwards and Gemma Robinson did great in the goal ring with very few shots missing. Mia Neessen also did so well in the mid-court.

The Blighty girls’ shooting was on fire with Penny Gallpen and Ali Macdonald working the ball around the ring.
They created space driving forward for the ball. They had great defence rebounding for the ball as well as intercepting.
It was looking to be a close game, but Jerilderie seemed to create a gap toward the end of the game.
The teams were in the thick of it the whole way and Blighty came up short, although, given availabilities put up a strong effort.

The Redeyes met Jerilderie on Saturday for a battle of ladder positions.
The Demons sit just above the Redeyes, making a recipe for a well contested game.
In the first quarter the girls made a few errors under pressure, which allowed the Demons to gain a seven goal lead.
However, to the Redeyes’ credit they reset the game play and focused on good decision making in attack. They clawed back to three goals at half time.
Amelia Hay joined the girls this week and fit in effortlessly in defence, taking some lovely intercepts and passing well to her teammates.
Chelsea Weir is always dynamic and came out to centre to take control of the game.
Steering the Redeyes to further points on the scoreboard, the captain earned herself the top award for the day.
Special mention also to Sammy Watson who a had a solid game as shooter, showing great confidence and discipline. And well done on achieving your C-grade badge for umpiring too.

Under-15s: Blighty 20 draw Jerilderie 20.
The Jerilderie under-15s started great against Blighty on Saturday and got a few turnovers in the first quarter.
The second quarter saw the girls lose a bit of momentum for a little and they let Blighty back within two points.
It was goal-for-goal in the last quarter with a few turnovers that made it hard to get the ball past the centre.
But after being down by three at quarter time, the Jerilderie team managed to come home with a draw.
For Blighty, Cassady Sibraa was consistent and calm in the goal ring, ensuring she is moving towards the ball and encouraging her teammates.
Eliza Weir is a very strong player and stays positive, encouraging everyone especially when it’s a very close game.
Isabel Pearn is also very consistent every week working hard in defence or wherever she is playing on the court.

Under-13s: Jerilderie 16 def by Blighty 17.
A strong first half saw the Jerilderie’s under-13s even at the main break with fourth placed Blighty.
Unfortunately a lapse in concentration during the third quarter meant they were down by five going into the final stanza.
To their credit, the Demons dug deep and worked together to pull the margin back to one.
Tahnee Glover was a great addition this week with plenty of intercepts and great passing.
Sama Swaid had a run in centre and demonstrated what a versatile player she is.
Jacinta Eldridge and Lexie Hines were back on this week working the ring well together.
Ultimately Blighty held off a comeback to defeat Jerilderie by one goal.
In a tight battle, the move of Ellie Miller into goal keeper was pivotal for Blighty in shutting down the opposition shooters.
The speed of the Blighty midcourters, led by Kaydnce Sibraa, was vital in moving the ball into attack.
Ella Charlton was reliable in goals with Shelby Huckin supporting her to clinch the win.
Isla Andrews and Georgie Butcher stepped up from under-11s showing determination in their debut game.

It was wonderful to watch the under-11s play, with Jerilderie playing a well matched Blighty team this week.
Both teams were able to score a few goals, which was very exciting for all the girls.
For Jerilderie, Isla Girdwood worked hard to stick to her player.
Pinky McGuinness showed some great defensive and attacking play and Milla Rorato led all day making sure she made good position across the court.
Amity Ewert made sure her voice was heard by her team members.
Players on both teams were so kind to each other, especially when a couple of players were hurt. It’s amazing to watch the girls improve every week.
