On Saturday, Echuca’s Jack McHale led every player on the ground in each of those categories, putting in a complete performance to finish as the highest rated player in the Murray Bombers’ 14-point win over Mooroopna.
Recording 24 touches for the afternoon — his best effort this season — the tough nut also won nine clearances, 14 contested possessions and booted a goal as Echuca fought off a determined Cats outfit to remain unbeaten through three rounds.
Using the ball at a tidy 71 per cent, McHale also racked up four intercept possessions, claimed five marks and had nine score involvements.
The midfielder ended the day with 10 tackles to his name also, as well as six inside 50s, to earn 151 ranking points, the most of any player on the ground, and the fourth highest total league-wide in round three.
Tellingly, the bulk of McHale’s stats came when the game was on the line.
With scores level at half-time, the onballer stood up in the third and fourth terms, recording 13 touches, 10 contested possessions and seven clearances after half-time as Echuca kicked away to claim the contest.
Teammate Liam Tenace also had a solid outing, recording 19 disposals, two goals and 144 ranking points during the contest.
