Jerilderie fought hard throughout Saturday’s clash with Strathmerton but were left to rue missed opportunities in front of goal, with an inability to capitalise at crucial moments proving costly.

The Demons created plenty of chances, particularly through the work of Brad Aylett, who was instrumental in the midfield.
Aylett continually drove the ball forward, winning clearances and creating numerous scoring opportunities with his strong work around the contest.
Bohdi Beasley put together another determined performance, competing relentlessly at the coalface all afternoon. His toughness and willingness to win the hard ball set the standard for his teammates and kept Jerilderie in the fight.
Up forward, Will Bull provided an excellent target, presenting strongly all day and taking several impressive contested marks. His work rate and ability to bring the ball to ground gave the Demons plenty of attacking opportunities despite the scoreboard not reflecting their effort.
While the result wasn’t the one Jerilderie was after, there were plenty of positives to take away.
The side’s ability to generate opportunities was encouraging, and with greater composure in front of goal, they’ll be confident of turning those chances into scoreboard pressure in the weeks ahead.

Reserves
It was going to be a tough day against a strong Strathy side with plenty of numbers.
Quickly the Dogs showed they had the ability to run, carry and use the ball well.
But to the credit of the Dee’s they were up for the task.
Brad Norton was dominant in the ruck.
Tom Bryce and Logan Eldridge gave options forward but ultimately Strathy were able to run Jerilderie off their legs and take away a 13 goal win.

Thirds
Both sides coming out firing in a fierce opening term.
The Demons matched the intensity early and battled hard at every contest, but it was Strathmerton who capitalised on their opportunities to build a lead.
James Winn, Evan Lawton and Logan Eldridge worked tirelessly all day, covering plenty of ground and showing a huge amount of gut running as they refused to give in.
Cooper Gurciullo battled strongly in defence, standing up under constant pressure and competing hard throughout the afternoon.
Up forward, young Jobe Marshall provided a highlight for the home side, kicking Jerilderie’s only major of the day.
Despite the scoreboard, the effort and determination never gave in with the Demons continuing to fight until the final siren.

Fourths
The little Dees came out firing, playing their trademark contested brand of football and taking the game on early.
However, late in the opening quarter Strathmerton managed to kick away, setting the tone for the remainder of the match.
To the Dees’ credit, the effort never dropped.
They continued to compete hard and never stopped trying, but Strathmerton proved just that little bit stronger going forward, making the most of their opportunities and steadily adding to the scoreboard.
While the final score read 88 to 0, there were plenty of positives to take from the game.
The Dees’ commitment and determination were evident right to the final siren, and they’ll be looking to build on that effort in the weeks ahead.
