A-grade had a hard game against Katamatite on Saturday in chilly conditions, but the cold didn’t stop the girls from putting in a determined performance.
The team made a few changes to the line-up, with Brit Talbot moving into GS. She and Ruby Neessen combined well in the goal ring, creating plenty of opportunities, with Ruby shooting some outstanding goals throughout the game.
Through the midcourt, Bon Flanagan, Keisha Marshall and Belle Westwood worked tirelessly together, linking the play well and continuing to drive the ball down the court.
At the defensive end, Miley Conn, Ella Arnold and Zara Williams never gave up, working hard against some very accurate Katamatite shooters and applying pressure all day.
While the team came away with a loss, the girls showed plenty of fight from the first whistle to the last.
Most importantly, there were some great signs of improvement from the past couple of weeks, giving the team plenty to build on heading into next round.

B-grade: Jerilderie 52 def by Katamatite 62.
The team had to shift and shuffle, with several positional changes made throughout the game.
Trailing by 11 goals at half-time, the decision was made to move Meagan Mauger from Goal Attack to Goal Keeper, and she worked hard in defence doing a phenomenal job and earning her BOC, while changes were also made in the shooting circle.
The Demons fought their way back to within six goals by the end of the third quarter.
Despite the spirited comeback, Katamatite were able to score a win, but the Dees never dropped their heads.
C-grade: Jerilderie 34 def by Katamatite 38.
In a tough game, Jerilderie went down by four goals.
It was hard for the midcourt to find their space at times.
The shooters gave it their all but fell short in a few goals.
C-Reserve: Jerilderie 22 def Katamatite 19.
A fantastic team effort, stringing together four competitive quarters and recording a well earned win.
It was a tight tussle from start to finish, with Jerilderie trailing at every break by one goal.
Del McMillan was on fire in the goal ring in the last quarter, with the midcourt players really finding their groove and delivering the ball efficiently and accurately.
The team rallied and remained focused to storm home for a three goal win 22 to 19.
BOC award went to Carina Rorato who was instrumental in defence, pulling in the rebounds and getting countless intercepts.
Other awards went to Laura Ham and Bec Mitchell.
Under-17s: Jerilderie 75 def Katamatite 11.
The girls came into the game with a positive mindset and were ready to go from the first whistle.
The energy was high well before the game even started, with the team breaking out the nutbush during warm-up, setting a fun and enthusiastic tone for the morning.
That positive energy carried onto the court, resulting in a great win.
As always, every player contributed strongly and played their role well.
The team worked hard across the entire court, with some fantastic intercepts creating plenty of turnover opportunities and keeping the pressure on Katamatite throughout the game.
Overall, it was a fantastic team performance, full of energy, effort and teamwork.

Under-15s: Jerilderie 40 def Katamatite 11.
The girls recorded a showstopper of a win.
They settled into a nice rhythm in the first quarter and led by nine goals at the change.
They built on this throughout the match to win 40 to 11.
BOC Lexie Bryce showed us what her height could do, taking some amazing intercepts and reading the play well.
The goal shooters continued to do what they do best with some well executed passes into the ring.
Under-13s: Jerilderie 53 def Katamatite 5.
Jerilderie recorded a big win against Katamatite 53 to 5, coming out strong from the first whistle and displaying some excellent passages of play.
The team implemented many of the skills and strategies they have been working on at training.
Defensively, everyone worked hard and stayed tight on their opponents, creating plenty of turnovers.
In attack, the players led well, worked hard to create space, and made sure they were in strong positions to receive the ball and keep it moving down the court.
It was a terrific team performance.
