Finley had an incredibly strong start in the first quarter and maintained their lead, and tried to keep up the intensity for the remainder of the game.
The A-grade girls were incredibly proud of their game and efforts and happy to get a win on the board.

This week was our best four quarter game for the year, with the scores level at half-time.
It was a fantastic effort by everyone across the court all day. But unfortunately, we ultimately went down by seven.

C-grade: Finley 50 def Congupna 42.
After a slow start the Cats seized control of the game midway through the first term and then never surrendered the lead.
Congupna threw a few challenges but we weathered the storm with everyone playing their role and increased their work rate.

The girls were off to a strong start this week, out to an eight goal lead at one point, but couldn’t consolidate to get away from the opposition enough to be in a comfortable position.
We stuck to our game plan and worked through the challenges thrown at us.
The awards went to Karen Donkin (Irwin Stockfeeds) for her great attacking and fantastic shooting, Lucy Mueller for her staring drives and constant pressure in WD and Remi Pyle (Finley Pilates and Clinical Myotherapy) for putting into practice our training at wing attack.
Under-17s: Finley 48 def Congupna 25.
A comfortable win with all team members contributing. Our attacking and defensive game was consistently shining in all four quarters resulting in a fantastic win.

Under-15s: Finley 18 def Congupna 13.
In a low scoring game, we started strongly in slippery conditions with pressure all over the court to take a handy lead into half-time. There was midfield pressure and strong defence.

Under-13s: Finley 28 def Congupna 12.
We took off early and held our lead, and the girls worked hard and well together in the slippery conditions.
Awards: Finley RSC - Emile Sneedon; Finley Bakery and Patisserie - Eloise Harris; Matt and Mandy Fleming - Chelsea Kennedy.
Under-11s: Not scored.
They came out firing in the wet conditions and displayed how strong they are as a team.
They caused many turnovers in defence allowing for several goal opportunities.
Their determination for the ball was great to see. Well done to everyone!
