There was a sense of anticipation and build-up of excitement on Friday night at the Deniliquin Boat Club as the Victorian Barefoot team launched their boat into the river.

Lots of eager and brave kids challenged themselves to have a go at barefoot skiing over the weekend.
Many thanks to Brad Shearer, Tom Roberts, and the rest of the team for teaching and providing an opportunity for kids and adults to have an introduction to barefoot skiing.
Ski school was also extremely busy.
As temperatures soared, kids were eager to get into the water and practice skiing.
A big thank you to Andrew King and Carissa Holmberg, who were in Rolco (beginner’s boat), and to Bernie Biggs - a long-standing member of the Deniliquin Boat Club - who volunteered his time to drive Gilflite and shared his expertise, skills and knowledge with the advanced skiers.
This Sunday, Ski School is hosting an ‘Adult Ski Day’.
People of all abilities are welcome to come and have a go, however you must be a boat club member to ski.
Club boats Gilflite and Rolco will be in the river from 9.30am, and the bar will be open throughout the day.
We will have a sausage sizzle for lunch.
Skiers and non-skiers are welcome to visit the boat club on Sunday to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
Please wear a touch of ‘green’ and bring the luck of the Irish to the riverbank of Deniliquin.
The last ski school for the season is on Friday, March 22.
Presentations will be held on that night, and there will be some fun activities for the kids.
Everyone is welcome to come out to the boat club and celebrate the major successes of the season.
