The announcement was made on Saturday, March 21 after discussion with CJSA’s committee and assessment of the Football Federations Australia (FFA) direction on safe distancing practices with the Coronavirus outbreak.
This decision comes following FFA’s announcement to suspend all sanctioned grassroots football competitions and associated training until 14 April.
Finley's soccer coordinator Leanna Loughridge said the announcement was not a shock to the players and parents however, was still devastating news..
“It’s disappointing we can’t go ahead but in the same token, everyone’s health and safety is far more important,” she said.
“We are hopeful that we may still be able to get some soccer or some form of activities in later this year, but we can’t make these decision yet.
“We will continue to monitor the situation to see what we can do.”
