Toc SES needs you

Nate Grieves (with the ball) has been selected in the 2023 NAB League Murray Bushrangers AFL Under 16 Boys Pre-Season Squad.

Without volunteers, the Tocumwal SES Unit wouldn’t be able to function.

These volunteers are part of a team of highly trained professionals who share a commitment to helping their community and their skills have been in high demand with the recent weather conditions and widespread flooding.

There are many ways to be part of NSW SES, whether it’s providing on-the-ground support, assisting in operational support, or raising community awareness through educational programs.

There really is a job for anyone who is interested in assisting their community in this capacity.

The group train at 7.30pm on Monday nights at the station on 1-3 Jerilderie Street.

Their members are scattered around the Berrigan Shire, and all are welcome to join and participate in these training sessions or come for a look and see what being a member of the SES is all about.

Tocumwal SES responds to calls from the Berrigan Shire and Cobram.

They can be contacted by phoning 132 500 when in need.

Tocumwal Public School kindergarten class members wearing red for Daniel.

Held annually on the last Friday of October, ‘Day for Daniel’ honours the memory of Daniel Morcombe.

Tocumwal Public School’s Student Representative Council asked all students to, on this very special day, wear red to school and make a gold coin donation.

A total of $191 was raised.

They also encouraged parents, carers, and educators to start a conversation with children and young people about personal safety, incorporating the merchandise the children received on the day.
