With upgrades coming for Luke Park, the group will now meet in the Monash Room at the Jerilderie Library complex.
Members had their first meeting there last week, and Faith Bryce said there was plenty of discussion about all the exciting things to come.
“It’s new era for Jerilderie Tidy Towns with the group holding their first meeting in The Monash Room,” she said.
“The group has taken the leap across the road due to the upcoming redevelopment of Luke Park, and the much anticipated building of a new public space.
“It will include a large covered barbecue area and a much needed toilet facility, with all abilities access close to the playground.”
A number of community clean up days are coming up, starting with the pre-Anzac Day working bee this Saturday.
“April is the tidy up of the memorial garden in readiness for Anzac Day, and will be held this Sunday from 9am,” Mrs Bryce said.
“May will be Luke Park garden tidy up and in June we will concentrate on rose pruning at the cemetery.
“July is B&S ball clean up and September rounds up our program with a race day clean up.”
The next Tidy Towns meeting is in the Monash Room on Monday, May 6 at 4pm.
Anyone wishing to join and lend a hand with the upcoming clean up days is welcome to attend.
