The awards celebrate outstanding achievements in community theatre across the Goulburn Valley.
STAG said the nominations recognised top work in four productions over the past 12 months: Cosi, Seventeen, Disco Inferno at Studio 17 and Beauty and the Beast.
Categories recognised included performance, direction, vocal direction, choreography, set design, wardrobe, lighting, artistic design and ensemble.
STAG president Nicky Pummeroy said the nominations followed a busy 12 months for the theatre group.
“From the drama and humour of Seventeen and Cosi, to the high-energy Disco Inferno at Studio 17 and STAG’s first Disney musical, Beauty and the Beast, the company has brought a variety of theatrical experiences to local audiences,” she said.
“Beauty and the Beast was a major highlight of the year, attracting more than 3000 patrons across its eight-performance season.”
The production involved a cast of 65 performers, supported by a large team of volunteers working across production, technical and backstage roles.
“Behind every production is a significant team effort. While performers and creative teams receive recognition for their work, each show relies on the commitment of volunteers across every area of the company.”
The 53rd Annual Georgy Awards will be held on Saturday, November 7 at the Eastbank Centre in Shepparton.
