The department said coaches will replace some Seymour and Shepparton line trains for the entire journey from Friday, July 22, to Monday, July 25.
V/Line said the changes were required due to the level crossing removal project and V/Line maintenance works.
Services leaving Southern Cross Station on Friday will be impacted from 9.30pm to the last service, with coaches replacing all trains to Seymour for the entire journey.
Coaches will replace all trains from Seymour to Southern Cross for the entire journey from 7.30pm until the last service.
From Saturday to Monday, coaches will replace all trains between Southern Cross, Seymour and Shepparton and coaches will not pick up or drop off at Essendon station.
“All train services will be replaced by a mix of express and stopping all stations coach services,” the V/Line website said.
Commuters are advised to speak to a V/Line staff member for more information.
Commuters are also warned to allow an additional 60 minutes for their journey and to check details before they travel.
