Contrary to information contained in the article ‘Free waste options to close’, Deniliquin Pastoral Times, March 22, and as per letter to the residents (first and only notice), we have NO waste collection service other than the skip bins which they are now closing.
Farming residences currently take their household rubbish to the skip bins in Bunnaloo and Womboota.
We have no other service in place to dispose of rubbish.
There was no consultation with affected farming households, and no alternative offered.
We were previously never informed that our rates did not cover the cost of community skip bins.
Meanwhile vast funds are consumed by council in excessive consultation fees and beautifications, whilst a sanitary rubbish service is removed from residents that get no other services from their rates.
The late Mayor Bob Caldwell worked hard to obtain a community rubbish service 20 years ago for Bunnaloo, now it is being stripped with nothing in its place.
